Mr.
Giles and Ms. Christel (Australians) are the travelers who have
accompanied me impressed by the friendliness and majestic scenery of
Halong Bay Vietnam. However,
after returning home, they sent me a letter and I translated a section
below for more people to care about the environment of Ha Long Bay:"I
and my wife, Christel, has worked in the health sector in many parts of
the world like UK, Australia, West Africa, the Arctic and the Solomon
Islands. We've traveled many places and can say Ha Long Bay of Vietnam and you are one of the most beautiful places.
However,
what makes us feel sad is when visiting Ha Long Bay, we see so many
bottles, plastic bags and other debris floating in the bay. Together with streaks of debris is contaminated by the tidal bay near the port. The pollution will destroy the coral reefs of Halong easily. The cloudy water is caused travelers really do not want to swim.
We found that the pollution problem will become more serious when tourism is more exploitation. That will cause a result the beauty of the bay with Halong ocean ecosystems will gradually be destroyed. Maybe
not so fast, but if this situation continues, the lives of fishermen
and the people who are being exploited in the tourism industry will
suffer.
The
water pollution in Ha Long will directly affect the health of fishermen
who live on floating villages and also adversely affect the health of
water users here. Of course, it also ruin the beauty of Ha Long Bay.
I think that with its status as a world heritage site, HaLong should not be contaminated at its current level. We sincerely want you to do everything possible to resolve the outstanding issues and environmental pollution can be minimized. We do not think that's an impossible problem. The problem is to do and do right. "
